This is part 2 of using social media marketing with Twitter.
By now you should have registered your Twitter identity, written a bio and maybe already written a tweet introducing yourself. However, you are not finished with the setup yet. Not only do you want to find people and business, but also other people will want to follow you and learn about your company and opinions. Let’s begin with uploading a photo/logo so others can easily identify your company or person tweeting. This picture helps your social media marketing campaign by buidling brand identity.
Building Brand Recognition & Social Media Marketing on Twitter
1. After you login, click on Settings in the upper right corner of your screen.
2. Click on Picture at the top of the tabs, click on Choose File and find an appropriate picture or your company’s logo to build brand recognition for free with Twitter social media marketing.
3. Finally, Click Save – and your logo or picture will now appear with every tweet whether it’s on your account or as a response to another Twitter user.
How to Use Social Media Marketing & Brand Identity with Twitter’s Background Tool
Increase brand recognition by customizing your Twitter background by incorporating your logo, Website’s color scheme or other picture that visitors will easily recognize. This is free marketing and design for your business!
While on the Settings page, you can easily go to Design and select a background color and customize the sidebar with your logo and color coordinate the links on your page. It may take a couple tries, but you will be able to set your profile apart from your competitors (if they even have a Twitter account). Look at these examples: SearchCircus, RCAMusic, PositivelyCleve, and you can do it too!
After you have setup your picture and background, you will want to find other people to follow. Twitter social media marketing search is the first place to begin. Try using the People Search located at the top of your page or the Search tab located at the bottom of your page. Both of these tabs are located on every page on Twitter and by clicking on either one, a new tab will appear. Read bios and a couple tweets, and if you’re interested in following them, click on Follow under their profile picture.
Want to find if your competitors or suppliers are on Twitter? Do a search and start following them as well. Why would you use social media marketing to find your competitors? So you can see firsthand what they are discussing, commenting and posting. It’s the inside look at your competition without doing anything illegal.
So how often do you post tweets? Some Twitter fanatics say everyday, and as much as 12 to 15 times a day, other users only post a Tweet once a day or even once a week. However, if you want to attract sales leads and appear as the expert in your industry, then we suggest posting Tweets more often but make them engaging.
Jason Burby, a social media marketing expert says, by using Twitter your followers can “follow your company to get inside news, information and special offers.” Also, know that Twitter is not just a tool to broadcast what you are doing, but seeks to engage followers. Any social media marketing should add value, engage the reader, and not be too intrusive or spammy.
