According to Brafton.com/news, companies’ marketing budgets for mobile devices are expected to exceed $1.2 billion within the next five years.
I find that fascinating since, thanks to the invention of the DVR, I can fast forward through all the commercials played during my show, but I never considered my cell phone.

Mobile Advertising on your smartphones.
Are the average consumers really becoming increasingly receptive of mobile advertisements? According to eMarketer, the answer is a resounding yes!
One-quarter of mobile users say they are getting comfortable with the ads displayed. Even more surprising, (38 percent) say mobile ads serve “an important purpose.” The article goes on to say that personalized ads were most effective, outranking free content and phone bill discounts as incentives. II don’t find that too surprising. I’m not interested in video games, so why would I focus on an ad pertaining to news in that industry?
I’m not a fan of advertisements, although I respect and understand their purpose, but the odds are higher that I would at least glance at an ad that pertained to a topic that tailors to my interests.
Creating mobile search ads according to consumers’ locations is gaining popularity. According to Compete, a company that helps the world’s top brands improve their marketing based on the online behavior of millions of consumers, one in three Smartphone users has visited a local business they found through a local search application.
Mobile use for social sites and surfing the Internet will only continue to increase. So I guess the next step in the Digital Age may just be targeted advertising via mobile devices.
Do you think there will be an App to skip all the ads? I guess we’ll find out.
Good thing I have my DVR for my TV.
