How Much is Too Much Government Control?
Have you heard the news about the Egyptian government completely cutting off Twitter and Facebook use, then Google and Internet access along with Blackberry service and SMS use? I was appalled that any country would actually succeed in preventing its residents from communicating with the outside world!

Has Egypt turned into a black hole as the government shuts down Google, Internet and social media access?
Reports are pouring in, many to Twitterers via landline, that the country has been “cut off” and is now a “black hole.” This was reported in the NYTimes.com just yesterday (Jan. 27, 2011)
It appears that Egypt’s government initially wanted to ban all wireless communications as some still had landline connections and were posting on Twitter and Facebook about the outages; however, as updates came to CNN and the NYTimes and other news sources even those updates were somehow being deleted.
Upon further reading, this “decisive measure” was intended to curb protesters from causing more unruly behavior by protesting the 30 year rule of the current president.
Protesters shouted: “Down, down, Hosni Mubarak”, in reference to the 30-year rule of the country’s president. According to Sky News, and Authorities have tried to limit protesters’ efforts by disrupting email, Twitter, Facebook and text services. Thus leading to the massive halt on all Internet activities.
Are We Really Too Dependent on Wireless Communications?
Share your opinions…I know I have my own theory about what could happen 20, 30, or 50 years from now regarding cell phones, wi-fi and the Internet.
