Knowing Where Your Brand Places During Holidays

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

The holiday season and new year bring some exciting new consumer products to the open market, and now is as good of time as ever for companies to re-brand their marketing strategies, too. As millions of people choose to spend time with their families, take vacation away from work and focus more on casual Internet browsing with their free time, you can captivate this audience with an unusual approach to your normal routine. If you know exactly how useful your website may be to potential holiday browsers, you can easily become more visible to more people.

Determine how valuable your product or services are during the holidays and capitalize on its potential reach for Internet users. Your holiday SEO should be filled with content that relates to your target user-base rather than strictly marketing another product. Readers want to be engaged in the information, not just be told what to buy or where to go. The holidays give you the chance to relate directly to your readers through interest and emotions.

Use the holidays as an opportunity to offer great deals and incentives that will make people want to share the information discovered on your website. Inbound links are a great way for you to rank higher on SERPs this holiday season. Social networking and blogging help generate links for your website’s authenticity, therefore the more popular users find your content and services, the more links you will ultimately obtain.

Check your traffic stats and peak activity throughout the day to understand when and why your site’s users are browsing when they are. Daily content updates are always refreshing for users and will encourage daily visits, but you don’t want to saturate your audience. Make sure you have content that’s both relevant to your website and a constant variety of information for readers.

Social Media Marketing FAQ: What Are Some Ways To Integrate Social Media Content Online?

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

In the online marketing world, it is imperative for businesses to expand their content across multiple channels and platforms. Recently, newspapers and TV Stations haven’t really focused on integration efforts. Instead of seeing social media platforms as partners, they perceived the sites as a threat to their marketing initiatives.

Regardless of whether you are a company or a content publisher, you can avoid making common marketing mistakes with your social media content by following these simple steps, according to SES Magazine (February 2011.)

  1. Make Sharing Simple. By allowing others to share your content, you will drive traffic to your site and gain valuable links.
  2. Focus on Trends. Use keyword research tools to keep an eye on trends and gain insight on words and popular concepts. Find out who people are following on Twitter to get a better picture of what’s hot.
  3. Optimize and Integrate Digital Elements. If you incorporate videos in your site’s design, be sure to create transcripts/content around them. Use titles, descriptions, tags, and links to digital components, and make all elements easy to share among site visitors.

The latest news in the social media world is the announcement of Columbia Pictures October release of “The Social Network” about the origins of Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg. With the recent release of the movie poster that sports an all caps headline of “YOU DON’T GET TO 500 MILLION FRIENDS WITHOUT MAKING A FEW ENEMIES,” is creating much buzz; however, it’s not receiving favorable nods from Zuckerberg.

While they are still some who are closing their Facebook accounts forever, and the agitation and controversy about Facebook privacy issues can still be felt by many (Search Circus is still very active on Facebook and has no intention of closing our accounts), this movie is jet-setting across the big screen in hopes of creating enough attention to win the top prize – an Oscar.

The young cast will feature Jesse Eisenberg and a host of other 20somethings that will sure to attract audiences of the same generation as well as mature generations who are becoming very active on this colossal social network.
